Caesars Entertainment has hired former BetMGM executive Matt Sunderland to assist expand its iGaming business.
Sunderland’s new position as senior vice president of Caesars’ online casino gaming division carries along more than 20 years of experience in the online gambling industry to the casino operator, which desires to expand its online gaming presence.
As the corporation considers expansion, it is evident that it expects a new face to provide fresh ideas. Sunderland will assume the position of senior vice president of iGaming at Caesars, assisting the company in achieving its growth objectives.
Matthew Sunderland is leaving BetMGM after two years of developing its digital offerings to join Caesars Entertainment. This week, Caesars announced that Sunderland would begin his new position as SVP of iGaming on October 1st.

He is most recognized for his position as Vice President of Gaming at BetMGM, where he worked concurrently with the spectacular ascent of the brand. Before becoming vice president, he had been a consultant for the firm since 2017.
The company had little impact in the first two years that sports betting was permitted in the United States. In 2020, though, it had bloomed and was welcome everywhere. Since then, BetMGM has expanded to become one of the country’s top three brands, with a prominent presence in online casinos.
Despite Sunderland being once the Vice President of Gaming for BetMGM, he has held various executive-level jobs throughout his career.
He formerly worked as an online gambling consultant for BetMGM and a Marketing, Digital, and Product Consultant for Online Gaming at MGM Resorts International.

From 2000 to 2003, he served as the Head of Commercial Marketing for CNN’s media company. On October 1st, Sunderland will begin his new position at Caesars.
