The inaugural Battle of Malta Poker Tournament was conducted in 2012, and PokerListings hosted it in Malta for several years. In 2019, 4,657 individuals participated in the competition held in Malta.
This year, the next one will be held from October 4 to October 12. The event will provide a prize pool of €1,000,000 with a buy-in of €555.
GGPoker and Casino Malta have collaborated to host the online version of their annual live tournament, Battle of Malta(BOM), three years in a row. There are 18 major and hundreds of minor tournaments with buy-ins ranging from €11 to €1050.00.
The main tournament includes an entry fee of €555 and a prize pool guarantee of €2,000,000, more than any other event in the season.
There will be tournaments to qualify for the October 2022 Battle of Malta Live Event series. In addition, the Battle of Malta Online Leaderboard will award 25 ticket and hotel packages valued at €1,555 to the players who perform the best against their opponents throughout the series.
The inaugural installment of Battle of Malta Online, a series of online poker tournaments with a prize pool of at least €250,000, was placed on July 10.
The BoM online series for players with mid-stakes began last Sunday and will continue until the end of the month. The organizer has pledged more than €25 million in prize money for the 2022 competition. Like last year, the tournament’s buy-ins and guarantees are denominated in Euros.
In the meanwhile, GGPoker will host an online Battle of Malta tournament. Over the following three weeks, the internet giant is set to host several tournaments with a guaranteed prize pool of over $25 million.
What about the Battle of Malta?
On Sunday, the Global MILLION$ European Cup final will be played. This will be the first major event for Battle of Malta Online. This tournament offers a buy-in of only €50 and a guaranteed prize pool of €1,000,000.
There are multiple beginning flights. The competition has been directed by Kara Scott, Maria Ho, Galle Garcia Diaz, and, most recently, Laura Cornelius.
The Battle of Malta began modestly but is today one of Europe’s most thrilling live poker tournaments. The buy-in has remained the same since 2012, but the event has grown substantially due to side events, the Spirit of Poker Awards, live streaming, and commentary.
John Scanlon, Director of Sponsorships and Live Events for GGPoker, stated, “We’re thrilled to partner with Casino Malta once more to host the perennially popular Battle of Malta Online.”
In 2018, the Eden Group, which controls Casino Malta and InterContinental Hotel Malta, purchased the Battle of Malta brand and event from PokerListings.
As a result, the event was relocated from the Portomaso Casino and Hilton Malta, where it had previously been held, to the enormous Eden Arena in the InterContinental Hotel, adjacent to the Casino Malta.
There are many mid-stakes poker tournaments, 18 outstanding feature events, and at least €25 million to be won, so we are confident that players are going to love this year’s series as much as they have in the past!
The European Poker Awards awarded the festival the best poker tournament with a buy-in of less than $2,000 in 2014. In addition, the Battle of Malta Online leaderboard will award 25 ticket and hotel packages valued at €1,555.
This series will also include qualifying events for the October 2022 Battle of Malta Live Event series.
The Tournament
Through the online Battle of Malta, GGPoker offers players the opportunity to win visits to live tournaments. As part of the Road to Malta, numerous satellites are present. This ensures that 75 packages (main event entry fee plus hotel) are given away for the October Battle of Malta.
New players to GGPoker will receive a welcome bonus, and the Honeymoon for Newcomers program will give them additional advantages and incentives. In addition, regular cash rewards will be awarded through GGPoker’s Fish Buffet loyalty program.
Furthermore, GGPoker is giving away 25 Battle of Malta packages via the online series leaderboard. Players that work hard, particularly throughout the series’ numerous mini-events, have the opportunity to earn points on this leaderboard and win a free prize package.
GGPoker just established the Poker Integrity Council. This impartial committee’s responsibility is to investigate any suspicious activity on the GGPoker network. The action is part of a bigger gaming industry effort to combat cheating.
