Light & Wonder to Use Playzido to Bring Michigan Casino Games Players New Content

Light & Wonder has gained a license to bring its content creation platform, Playzido, to the U.S. The company got the license from Michigan, making the state the first to gain access to unique casino content.

Light & Wonder plans to use the platform to bring top-level studios and games to casino operators in Michigan and possibly the whole country. According to the head of commercials at Light and Wonder iGaming in the U.S., the remote server is one of the strongest in the market. Dana Jackel also said that Playzido was a success in Europe.

Playzido is designed to help independent development studios. It also supports all game genres, including jackpots and multipliers. Some of the games that Playzido comes with include Blazing 777 by Light & Wonder, Diamond Multiplier Respin by Pixiu Gaming, and Charlie’s Angels by Atlantic Digital.

Atlantic Digital is a London-based game developer. The company has already entered the U.S. thanks to a deal with BetMGM Casino.

Just a few days before Light & Wonder announced its news about bringing Playzido to Michigan, BetMGM Casino announced a deal with Atlantic Digitals. The deal allows BetMGM Casino to offer its clients The Godfather slot machine in Michigan and possibly in other states soon.

It is not clear who will benefit from Playzido’s entry into the country. This is because the press release did not mention any partnership with casino operators. However, Light & Wonder has had many great relationships with different casino operators.

As such, it is likely that most operators will want to offer new content from Light & Wonder. For instance, the giant casino content developer has several studios under its wings whose content is available at most online casinos.

These studios include SHFL Entertainment and Lightning Box. SHFL Entertainment’s Dancing Drums and Lightning Box’ Stellar Cash games are available at BetRivers Casino, BetMGM Casino, Golden Nugget Casino, FanDuel, DraftKings, and Caesars Palace Online Casino.

Michigan has become a favorite for many new casino operators. Therefore, it might not be long before several operators start offering content from Playzido.

Playzido Content to Expect

Playzido is recognized for its Remote Gaming Server platform. However, it also develops games. These include Deal or No Deal Jackpot, Deal or No Deal Red Box Streak, Deal or No Deal Rapid Round, and Deal or No Deal Bankers Riches.

That is not the only thing Plazido has to offer. Other popular themes that the firm develops are Egyptian-themed slots, Greek mythology, pirates, buffalo, and Irish. But, most of these slots fall in the medium and high volatility, unlike the Deal or No Deal branded games.

Introducing Playzido in Michigan is Part of a Bigger Plan

Light and Wonder has been making boss moves since 2021. The company originally went by Scientific Games before 2021. At the time, the company dealt with many sections, including providing content for land-based casinos.

Since 2021, Light & Wonder has been focusing on iGaming. The company sold its sportsbook and lottery businesses to focus on online casino gaming. Apart from selling some of its verticals, Light and Wonder had to acquire some companies.

This included Lightning Box, which develops slot machines; Authentic Gaming, the developer of live casino games; and House Advantage, the loyalty solution provider. Light and Wonder also acquired Playzido, a content creation platform.

Light and Wonder offered to buy the remaining 17 percent from SciPlay in May. The iGaming company also made a deal with Warner Bros to bring several casino content to online casinos. This growth trend is set to continue, as evidenced by the recent move of Playzido to Michigan.
