The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has reported a record-breaking $294.2 million in online casino revenue for March 2025, surpassing the state’s previous high of $281.2 million set in December.
This strong performance comes after a slower start to the year, with January and February showing signs of a potential cooldown in growth. However, March’s figures quickly put those concerns to rest, marking a 12.5% increase from February and a 26.2% jump compared to March 2024.
As one of the “Big Three” online casino markets in the U.S., alongside New Jersey and Michigan, Pennsylvania continues to lead in revenue generation—thanks in part to its larger population.
The Keystone State’s online casino sector is now nearing another milestone: the $1 billion year-to-date mark. With $823.7 million generated in the first quarter of 2025, the industry is only $176.3 million shy of that figure and is expected to surpass it by April, a full month ahead of last year’s pace.
Online Slot Games Deliver in March Revenue
A key highlight for March was the performance of online slot games, which reached a historic benchmark. Slots brought in $235.5 million for the month, pushing all-time revenue for real-money online slots past $7 billion.
Slots have traditionally made up 76% of Pennsylvania’s lifetime online casino games revenue, but March’s strong showing pushed that share to 80%—a level last seen in January.
On the operator front, the Hollywood Penn National license stood out, recording $109.5 million in revenue for the month—a new high. While the PGCB does not break down revenue by individual operators, Hollywood Penn National’s success is bolstered by housing DraftKings and BetMGM. These are considered two of the top-performing platforms in the industry.
Both operators have played a pivotal role in Pennsylvania’s online casino growth and continue to be major drivers of market performance.
With momentum building and multiple records already shattered, Pennsylvania’s online casino market is poised for even greater gains as 2025 progresses.
