Magnet Gaming is still a relatively new developer, having been established in 2014. It’s a subsidiary for an older company though, so there is history there which goes back over a decade in game development. It has Danish roots, one of the few game developers that I’ve seen launched in that country, at least well known enough to reach me. In just a couple of years, Magnet Gaming has managed to released 24 slot machines, about which we will talk more below, but for now suffice it to say that they’re fairly impressive games.
The company has only a couple of years since it’s started offering content, and so they began with HTML5 technology from the get go, foregoing the Flash option which is losing ground fast in this market. Their games can be integrated into existing casino platforms via an API interface, and they can also be modified to fit various markets and to use shared or stand-alone jackpots.
A company called Cego was launched back in 2000, in Denmark, and it’s still based there today, in the city of Aalborg. They’ve started creating casual games at first, but they also obtained a gaming license in 2012, which allowed them to offer casino games in Denmark. They’ve started their own casino site, called Spilnu.dk, and then in 2014 they’ve also established a subsidiary called Magnet Gaming, which got the role of developer. The purpose was to create slot machines and to license them to operators of online casinos from all over the world.
The first slot machine they released came in January 2015, and it was called Bank Walt. Three others followed in the days to come, before that first month was even over, including Diamond Express, Golden Pyramid and Side Show. They kept going at it, releasing new and impressive slot machines, at an increasingly higher rate. As of late 2018, they have 24 video slots released, and they’re all impressive looking titles.
The quality of their games has proven good enough that in addition to the Cego casino, the Magnet Gaming slots are also available at several major brands right now, including BetVictor, NetBet and VideoSlots. This is especially possible now that the company has signed a deal with Microgaming, which will bring their content to the Quickfire platform and to its hundreds of operators.
Since early 2015, Magnet Gaming has started releasing a wave of impressive new slot machines, designed in HTML5 and highly attractive visually. They’ve released 24 slot machines so far, and they keep increasing the number of titles that they put out each year, so their collection should reach a decent size soon enough. A good spread of layouts was used, so you get both 3 and 5 reels from them.
Looking at the games they’ve released so far, there are both good and bad things to say about their choices of themes. There are several excellent games which you’re not going to find anywhere else, but I’ve also found that they show little imagination when it comes to the ones with common stories. They often prefer descriptive titles, such as Safari, Jewel Heist or Haunted House, among many others, which doesn’t make them stand out next to others which do the same thing. On the other hand, once a game loads, you’re definitely seeing the quality of design.
Among the themes which are a bit more special, I’ve noticed slots like Homegrown, Inspector, Side Show and Baking Day.
As for the features, those tend to be the expected options, which aren’t necessarily basic, but which can be found from other developers. Multipliers, avalanches, bonus games, wilds, free spins and other cool features are included.
I tend to be quite satisfied with the rewards in their games. Some pay more, others less, but the RTP is consistently above average in their slot machines.
Magnet Gaming is still a beginner in this market, but some of their games have proven a bit more popular than others already. Deep Blue, Haunted House, Jewel Heist and Safari are a couple of games which I’d recommend and which others seem to enjoy.
I didn’t find any reason to be dissatisfied with Magnet Gaming’s average RTP. The slots they release are designed to attract knowledgeable online players, which tend to look at things like RTP. The best games I’ve noticed them launch are Diamond Express (97%), Homegrown (96.5%), Bank Walt (96.5%) and any of the others which are set to 96.5%. The majority of their games would fall in that category.
