The premise of Fruits n Royals is easy enough to figure out, as the game mixes classic fruit symbols and images of kings and queens, real ones though, not just representations of cards. It’s a Novomatic slot machine that’s looking like it’s going to be fun to play mostly for players that enjoy simpler games, but keep reading to find out whether it fulfills that promise.
With just 5 lines on 5 reels of 3 symbols each, Fruits n Royals gives us a very simple game system, but one that we’re used to seeing in modern slot machines. Wins of up to 5,000x per combo are possible inside, but if you look at the features involved you will find that there isn’t much there for you, the scatters being the only ones that will make appearances.
Betting
You can play with the betting options in several ways, but the number of lines will be fixed at 5. You can click on the coin value though, to change its value within a range of $0.01 to $5. The other side of the bottom row hosts the total bet, which allows for the use of 5 to 500 coins. This places a wager of 1 to 100 coins on each active line. You can spend as little as $0.05 each round, but you appear to be capable of wagering up to $2,500 as well.
Fruits n Royals Jackpot
The jackpot looks great, delivering 5,000x the line bet in exchange for five symbols which have the King’s Crown, on the same line. Given the high possible wagers of the game, it’s not out of the question to land a payout of $2,500,000 from a single spin, though only if you wagered the maximum bet of $2,500. This gives us a potential for the game of 1,000x the stake, which is quite low.
The 95% Return to Player that is apparently true for the game’s entire life, is not a number that I’d call great, but at the very least it’s going to give you a decent chance.
Special Features
I’m not crazy about the features which are available in many Novomatic slots, as many tend to be on the simple side, and Fruits N Royals would definitely fall in that category as well. The game is very simple to play, has only one feature and even that’s going to be boring for a lot of players.
Scatters
About the only thing worth noting in the feature area is going to be a scatter symbol. The image for it is that of a Golden Star and you will be able to use it when it appears in random locations on the reels, but a minimum of three times. At that point, you can expect a win from these symbols, but no other features. The rewards given away will reach 50x the bet, which is quite far away from the 1,000x paid for the jackpot combo.
Design
The difference in this game, compared with other simple Novomatic slot machines, is in the choice of symbols. The three highest paying icons will offer images related to royalty (King’s Crown, King and Queen), while all the others are considered classics (golden star, orange, plum, lemon and cherries).
For the symbol quality, I think that you’re going to be satisfied with what you get from the high symbols, the three inspired by royalty. The other positions are pretty much standard for Novomatic’s classic line, and they’re not attractive at all.
Summary
Fruits n Royals doesn’t give you all that much extra compared with other simple slots, but at least we get a couple of decent symbols as well, alongside the boring ones.
