It might not be a name that you instantly recognize, but Red Rake Gaming has been making waves in the online gambling industry in recent years. They offer mainly high quality slots, in regulated markets such as Italy and Spain, with UK set to be the next one on their list. They have as customers over 200 casinos, and the couple of dozen slots and table games they’ve designed so far are translated in 20 languages and playable in over 100 currencies.
Red Rake Gaming has been established in 2011, and since then they’ve managed to grow and employ more than 40 people. They don’t quite have the growth of some of the other companies which were started back then, but as you will find out from the History section, they didn’t start out as developers for the online casino market.
In addition to the awesome games that they’ve been developing, they also created several impressive new tools, which companies could use to help manage them. One of them is FRB, a line of promotional tools which their partners can use to offer free round bonuses, to promote games and to find promo materials. The Total Replay option is another important one, as it allows users to see a replay of a big win, and the operator can see it as well, or promote it to other players.
Red Rake’s history started back in 2011, but the company wasn’t focused on real money casino games at first. They began as developers of games for the social casino side, with the switch to real casinos coming in 2015/2016. They became B2B providers, which means that they’re mostly dealing with other companies, and they’re not always making their work available directly to consumers.
One of the first moves they made was to show off their online games at an exhibition called EXPOJOC, back in 2015. They continued to promote themselves at ICE 2016, in February 2016. July that year had them offering their games on iJuego.es for the first time. By the end of the year they launched Myrtle the Witch (slot), The Pharaoh’s Tomb (video bingo), Montecarlo Glamour, Electric Sevens (slots) and they also launched on Multilotto.
They continued to appear at exhibitions and to create new games in 2017 as well, plus they placed some important roots in the industry, by signing with companies like 1xBet, BetConstruct, iSoftBet and others. Several video bingo titles were launched that year, including Greek Gods and Hollywood Dreams. An important innovation of theirs was the use of the Orbital Reels for the first time, in a slot called Wildcano. Several other slot machines were released, every couple of months a new one coming out.
The Video Bingo market continues to be important to Red Rake, and they released several titles in 2018 as well, but they also gave their players a game of Video Poker with 20 different modes to choose from. VideoSlots.com integrated their content that year, and then Casino Barcelona did the same. Among their slots from 2018, titles like Speed Heroes or Viva Las Vegas should be mentioned.
Over 80 titles are available from Red Rake as of right now, with their most recent launched slots being titles like Maya, Viva Las Vegas or Speed Heroes. The company has also covered the Video Bingo fairly well, with Video Poker being the third major category that they’re offered content in. The slot machines tend to be fairly high quality, they are available in 16 languages and 100+ currencies may be used in them, so the majority of the world’s countries are covered.
They created their own slot machines with slightly more common themes, including Irish leprechauns (Ryan O’Brian and the Celtic Fairies), Ancient Egypt (The Asp of Cleopatra) or fantasy (Mystic Mirror), but I’ve also gotten plenty of entertainment from their unique releases (Wildcano, Viva Las Vegas and Judges Rule the Show, with a special mention for Jack O’Lantern vs The Headless Horseman).
As for the quality of these games, mostly I found them quite enjoyable. You get high quality graphics from the symbols that count, while the lower ones will be slightly boring at times. The features tend to be solid, with all the major features, and sometimes with innovations implemented as well. One of their better known new features is called Orbital Reels, which they used in Wildcano, a slot machine.
Their most popular title appears to be Wildcano, the slot machine where they implemented the Orbital Reels feature for the first time. Another one that’s fun, especially for Halloween, is called Jack O’Lantern vs The Headless Horseman. Finally, I’d also recommend Hansel and Gretel, if I were to make a top 3 of the most popular Red Rake slots.
With most slots from Red Rake having an RTP that’s slightly above 95%, it’s not exactly a developer that is generous in this area. Among the few that are getting better RTP you will find Eastern Goddesses (96%) and Rome (95.5%).
